“Innovation” ranks among the most common words in use today. But what does it really mean to innovate? Is an adapatation or alteration enough, or does it require something completely unique and new?
The fact is, any fresh idea that leads to growth is a priceless innovation we should treasure. And at the third annual GCA’s Fashion in Bloom, garden center owners and buyers are invited to share in the innovations of tomorrow—with new varieties, new lines, new styles and a priceless opportunity to interact directly with breeders and growers.

Beds & Borders Inc. is nationally recognized as a leader in specialty garden and container plants. As one of Americas first wholesale growers to grow exclusively specialty annuals, Beds & Borders fills a niche that currently represents one of the largest growth sectors in the industry. Their product line is a trusted favorite with East Coast garden centers and top garden design professionals—generously featured in numerous municipalities and botanic gardens.
Along with state–of–the–art greenhouses in New York, Beds & Borders has expanded production into a second location: Beds & Borders South, a 11–acre, 35,000 sq. ft. greenhouse. Beds & Borders will now be able to supply their sought–after line of products nationally.
Centerton is proud to be New Jersey’s largest family–owned container nursery, producing nearly 1,000 kinds of hardy garden plants. For more than 30 years, Centerton has grown exclusively for the independent garden retailer under six different brands, including:
BlewLabel Perennials: oversized container–grown perennials that offer instant landscape impact and higher success rates after installation.
Happy Ever Appster Daylilies: multiple–repeat blooming daylilies that provide you with a minimum of 80 days of color.
CenterPeace Plants: broad selection of woody flowering shrubs, evergreen, and conifers developed with some of the best shrub breeders in the world.
Hasslefree Roses: designed to resist pest and disease problems common to ordinary roses.

The Conard–Pyle Company has been growing and introducing new plants for over 100 years. Although historically focusing on garden roses, attendees at this year’s show will witness new selections of perennials, woody plants and shrub roses.
Prominently displayed are the two newest creations of Bill Radler, breeder of the standard–setting Knock Out family of roses. The Sunny Knock Out rose, a radiant cream yellow, is fragrant—a first for a Knock Out rose, and something seldom seen in disease–resistant shrub roses. Bill’s Carefree Celebration (exclusive to GCA members) combines his hallmark disease–resistance with a profusion of unique coral orange blooms.
As one of two host companies for GCA’s Fashion in Bloom, The Conard–Pyle Company will exhibit their new creations in a unique pavilion originally constructed for the first Fashion in Bloom event in 2005. Displays include four themed gardens, several specially–targeted satellite gardens, and a complete outdoor kitchen by Viking.
